Clay Ingredients: 1 cup water 1 cup salt 1cup cornstarch 1. Mix 1 cup water and 1 cup cornstarch. 2. Heat in a saucepan over medium heat until the mixture thickens. 3. Add 1 cup salt. 4. Stir together in the saucepan until the mixture forms a firm ball. 5. Remove from the stove. 6. Use immediately or store the clay in a sealed plastic bag. The clay can be flattened or rolled into shapes, and then air-dried for several days until rock hard. For immediate results, bake or microwave the clay. After the clay has hardened, it may be painted and decorated. Paint Ingredients: 1 cup cornstarch 2 cups water 1/4 cup food coloring 1. Combine the cornstarch and the water in a saucepan. 2. Stir over medium heat until the mixture thickens. 3. Remove from the stove. 4. Add the food coloring (one color per batch). 5. Beat until the paint reaches a smooth consistency. If the mixture is too thick, add more water as needed. Store in a plastic container in the refrigerator. |
