If you make New Year’s resolutions, consider these suggestions for the coming year:

*Share your personal Alzheimer’s story with someone who hasn't heard it before.

*Start a conversation about Alzheimer's awareness—at church, synagogue, civic organization, bridge club, lunch group—which could help someone open up about his or her situation.

*Contact a local nursing or assisted living residence and offer to volunteer one day a month.

*If you're a caregiver, set aside one day a week to do something special for YOU.

*Help friends with Alzheimer's stay active by supporting programs for activities and socialization, such as arts and crafts, Bingo, sing-a-long, creating a memory album, or just fellowship over coffee and doughnuts.

*Find a way to make a difference in the life of someone living with Alzheimer’s.
